"Director's Cut"

by Glenn Rivera

It was great to see all of the stars out on premiere night. The sky might have been wondering where all the glimmering was - it was right here in Hillcrest.

A small piece of fun was that Helen Lawson and Anne Wells were fashonably late. A source says an "eyelash malfunction" was to blame. Humph! As the crowd paitiently waited for the screening to begin, the red carpet was minus the stars. When they did arrive the crowd rose to a thunderous applause. It was a moment where one would have been in awe of a Hollywood Premiere.

Garissa arrived a bit early and did not dawn any attitute as many have seen in the film. A simple promotional t-shirt was worn.

The "Girly Goo" spirit was intact. Radah was seen hob-nobbing with club circuit deeJae, Felix. Yes it's true. Prince did have a stroke a few months ago. He is recovering slowly and in time - a documentary of his years as the pioneer of house music is in the works by Girly Goo Productions. Glenn Rivera will be working closely with Prince to create this very interesting view of the club house music scene as it is a decendant of seventies disco!

Lolly Rivera was there to show how beautiful a man can be as a woman. She dawned a very mild look which took her into another phase of being a first at Girly Goo films. "Tony Pilar was a tough character to portray," she said, "there were times when keeping an eye on the beautiful Anne Wells and remembering my lines was tough." It was rumored that a brief romance took place on the set. No one commented on this tid-bit which means it probably happened - whenever "mums" the word it can translate as, "been-there-done-that!"

Girly Goo stars, Len and Chris arrived to mingle among the crowd and remind all that their prescense is always needed to complete the Girly Goo Stage! Last year's production, "Ain't That Just Like A Woman" was also re-ran following the screening to satisfy many requests. Len turned to a reporter at one point of the show and said, "It's like watching an old movie." Hardly! This blockbuster video still packs a punch. A punch that even Chris could not surpass as the wife-beating thug in the video. Newcomers to the video were impressed with both talents. Len & Chris will participate in next years production of "Can-Can." This one's gonna be a big one! Watch for it!

A special moment was the arrival of Celeste and Jae. Both Celeste and Jae were in the Hillcrest spirit and made the evening a pleasant one. The mingling of both created a calmness prior to the curtains dawning.
